May 19

Now the plants are looking a bit better, and the weather's about to heat up.

May 9

The primary plant and a backup.

I think the tomatoes are growing faster than the pumpkins.

May 2

Looks like a quite normal plant, huh?

I thought this was supposed to be a giant - some mythological creature? With all the cool weather we've been having, not much growing going on.

April 27

The tomb is empty!

... just in time for Easter.

April 20

Enough reminiscing...

On to this year's lineup. The 802 Bhaskatan '05 is my primary seed, with two backups.

This is last year's pumpkin. It had a small worm hole when we picked it, so it spent the fall in the fridge waiting for Halloween.

This is me, with my Primary Pumpkin Helper.

Collecting roly-polys is a full-time job.

I better show my other pumpkin helper too!

Not much Georgia clay in here!

There's really no room for bad dirt in the competitive sport of giant pumpkin growing.

In the beginning...

April 3rd

...there was dirt. And it was good dirt, real good dirt.

My patch is mostly compost, some bags of cow manure, and lots of chopped up leaves.
